How to use FYC Leave in Conditioner

Have you tried our *magic* leave-in conditioner yet? They’re not our words; that’s how it’s been described by some of our customers.

Leave-in conditioner is designed to be used after the wash and left in the hair, to lock in moisture and help curls keep their shape. But with so many curl types, there’s no ‘one right way’ to use it.

Have a play and find what’s right for you and your hair. Here are a few tips to get you started.

Wet hair: Leave-in should be used straight after your usual wash when your hair is wet. It’s a great lightweight base to add your usual styling products on top.

Ends first: Start applying at the ends and work through the lengths of the hair. How near to the roots you go depends on your texture. If your hair is coarser, you may need leave-in conditioner the whole length of your hair, while looser textures may need ends only.

Even distribution: Make sure the leave-in conditioner is really well distributed through the hair. Brush it through making sure every curl gets its fair share! Try using a Denman brush or detangling brush, which both help with distribution and curl definition.

Refresh-and-go: FYC leave-in conditioner can also be used to refresh curls. Put a small amount in the palm of your hand, add some water, and then scrunch onto the hair where it feels dry. Leave to air dry and watch your curls pop!

FYC leave-in conditioner can be used on it’s own, or together with Refresh & Detangle Spray, or with your usual styling products. Check out the FYC Curl Guide here for more tips on the whole range.
